Memebers' Newsletter - Tennis, Teamwork & £1,500 Raised for Good Causes

Dear Member,

Saturday saw our first Charity Day in partnership with Bright Ideas for Tennis, as we welcomed former pros Danny Sapsford and James Auckland to the club.

Danny and James led a series of engaging and challenging sessions for our juniors, social players and team players, sharing plenty of valuable tips along the way on how to really play tennis!

It was a fun day for everyone involved, but there was also an important purpose behind the event: raising money for our disability programme, Tennis Without Limits, and for Elmbridge CAN, which supports refugees and forcibly displaced people in Elmbridge.

We’re delighted to announce that Saturday’s event raised £1,500. The funds will support both causes, with a proportion also retained to help with the continued development of the club.

We’ve attached a few photos of the action, along with some of those who took part in the adult sessions. There are plenty more, which we’ll make available shortly.

Days like this simply don’t happen without volunteers. From setting up and running the courts and speed gun, to helping with the BBQ and bar – and, of course, clearing everything away afterwards – a huge thank you to everyone who gave their time and helped make the day such a success.

Finally, we’d love to hear your feedback. What did you enjoy? What could we do differently? And should we do it again next year? Please share your thoughts via WhatsApp, email (helloweyltc@gmail.com) or directly with any member of the Committee.

With warm regards, The WRLTC Committee
