Welcome to our Summer Bumper Newsletter! It's been a busy and enjoyable summer at Weybridge Riverside LTC, with members coming together for a range of social and competitive events, including our successful Summer Party and Club Championships Finals Day. In this edition, we look back on the highlights of the season and celebrate the achievements of our junior and adult members both on and off the court.

WRLTC Summer Party – Saturday 27th June

Our annual Summer Party on Saturday 27th June was a fantastic success, with over 78 members adults and children enjoying a wonderful summer evening at the club.

Guests enjoyed a delicious buffet provided by Lebanese Please, followed by a lively evening of music from our very own DJ, Vasali (KCBM), who kept the dance floor busy throughout the night and Emily from VEMA Visuals captured the occasion.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated prizes for the charity raffle, including local businesses and club members. We were delighted to have raised £400 for our chosen charities, Weybridge in Bloom and Shooting Stars Children’s Hospice.

As ever a special thank you goes to all of the volunteers who helped Sarah and Vasili make the event possible. We are particularly grateful to Jo Peers, Andy Southern, Monica & Darryl Swift & Nikki Jenkins for helping with the set-up, John Cook, Janice & Vivien for their help with the bar & to Nigel for helping to clear everything away on Sunday morning.

Thank you to everyone who came along and helped make it such a memorable evening. We look forward to seeing you at our next social event!

Weybridge Riverside Tennis Club Championships 2026 – Finals Day Sunday 19th July

What a fantastic conclusion to this year's Club Championships!

Finals Day showcased some outstanding tennis, with every match played in a competitive yet sporting spirit. From the opening serve to the final trophy presentation, players produced some truly memorable performances that reflected the strength and depth of tennis at our club.

The atmosphere throughout the day was brilliant. Our courts were lined with supportive spectators who created a wonderful environment for the finalists. Thank you to everyone who came along to cheer on the players and help create such a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

A huge thank you goes to our incredible volunteers, who helped Jo behind the scenes and on the day to ensure everything ran so smoothly. Whether you helped with refreshments, cakes, court preparation, setting up, clearing away or simply stepped in wherever needed, your contribution was invaluable.

A special thank you also goes to Martha and Niki for the beautiful flowers and garden touches that added so much colour and charm to Finals Day. They helped create a welcoming atmosphere and were a lovely addition to the event.

We are also extremely grateful to our umpires, who generously gave up their time to officiate throughout the day. Their support helped ensure the matches were played fairly and the Finals Day ran smoothly, and it was greatly appreciated by all the players.

Thank you to the Tennis Committee for the enormous amount of work that goes into organising the Championships. Months of planning, countless emails, scheduling, draws and behind-the-scenes preparation all came together to deliver another successful Finals Day for the club.

It was a privilege to welcome the Mayor, Councillor Sarsby, to Weybridge Riverside Tennis Club. We were delighted that she was able to join us, present trophies and celebrate the achievements of our finalists and the spirit of our club. Our sincere thanks also go to our trophy presenters, Andy Southern, Alison Wade, Patrick Gibbon and Tom Musson, for helping to recognise the achievements of this year's finalists. We are equally grateful to Paul Hill and John Cook for capturing the day through photographs, creating a lasting record of another memorable Club Championships.

Thank you to everyone who played, volunteered, officiated, baked, supported and cheered from the sidelines. Together, you made the 2026 Club Championships another successful celebration of tennis and everything that makes Weybridge Riverside Tennis Club such a special place.

Finally, congratulations to every player who took part in this year's Championships. Whether you lifted a trophy or not, you contributed to a wonderful tournament through your commitment, sportsmanship and fantastic tennis.

We hope everyone enjoyed the day, and we look forward to welcoming you back to compete in the 2027 Club Championships!

Weybridge Warriors Enjoy Outstanding Junior Summer League Success

The Weybridge Warriors celebrated an exceptional Junior Summer League campaign, with teams delivering fantastic performances across multiple age groups and divisions.

Our youngest Warriors got the club off to a flying start, with the 9&U Mixed Division 2 team finishing 1st place. The success continued in the 10&U Mixed Division 2, where the A Team claimed 1st place, while the B Team produced an excellent season to finish as Runners-up but if a delayed match can be played they may shift to 1st.

The 11&U Boys also enjoyed a remarkable summer, with both teams topping their respective divisions. The 11&U A Team Division 1 1st place while the 11&U B Team secured 1st place in Division 2, highlighting the strength and depth of our junior programme.

Rounding off a brilliant set of results, the 14&U Boys Division 2 team also finished 1st place completing an outstanding summer for the club.

Congratulations to all of our players on an incredible Junior Summer League—we're proud of every Warrior and look forward to building on this success in the season ahead!
